Mr. Hudson is the Education Director at the Illinois Prison Project and a community organizer who focuses on ending perpetual punishment. He spent over 37 years in prison, including more than a dozen on death row. While incarcerated, he developed a groundbreaking prison newspaper and a transformational peer education program. He's also an artist who works in acrylic and oil. In September 2020, Governor Pritzker commuted his life sentence, and he was released. His educational work has been featured in the BBC, Chicago Tribune, NBC News, Chicago Magazine, the Sentencing Project, and the Global Leadership Summit
